Kumbum Monastery

Xining, one of the best summer resorts in China, has many ancient relics and beautiful natural sceneries, including the Great Mosque, the Kumbum Monastery, the Beichan Temple, the Qinghai Lake, the Bird Island, and the Tu nationality Garden in Huzhu. The special locally-made products include plush, blankets, and carpets.

The city itself has a strong Islamic flavor, as it is home to many Hui people, you will start getting a more Tibetan feel as you move away from the city.
